Actually, the new 2008OS has improved the battery info to be more accurate.

So when you are surfing and listening to mp3s at the same time, it will reflect a much lower battery life left. (e.g. say 2 hours) as compared to it not doing anything just sitting there and you will get 5-6 hours of battery life.
